About the Rossi RB22 22LR Bolt-Action

The Rossi RB22 22LR bolt-action rimfire rifle with 18 inch barrel represents a practical entry point for shooters seeking a reliable, lightweight platform for small game hunting, plinking, and marksmanship training. Chambered in the ubiquitous .22 Long Rifle cartridge, this rifle leverages a classic bolt-action design paired with modern manufacturing efficiencies. The 18-inch barrel provides an optimal balance between maneuverability and velocity retention for rimfire loads, making it a versatile tool for both novice and experienced shooters. Built around a synthetic stock and a blued steel barrel, the RB22 delivers consistent performance without unnecessary weight or complexity.

Overview

The Rossi RB22 is a straight-forward, magazine-fed bolt-action rifle designed around the .22 LR cartridge. The action uses a two-lug rotating bolt that cocks on the downstroke, providing a smooth, predictable cycling motion. An 18-inch barrel with a 1:16 twist rate stabilizes standard velocity and high-velocity ammunition effectively. The rifle feeds from a detachable 10-round rotary magazine, which sits flush with the stock to maintain a clean profile. The overall length measures 36.5 inches, and the unloaded weight is approximately 4.5 pounds, making this one of the lighter rimfire bolt-action rifles available. The trigger is a single-stage design with a pull weight typically ranging from 4 to 6 pounds. Open sights include a brass bead front post and an adjustable rear sight for elevation and windage.
