A .270 Winchester bolt action with a scope already mounted suits a hunter who wants a ready-to-shoot rifle for deer. California sells deer tags by zone, and every round used on game in the state must be nonlead, so the ammunition you load should be nonlead from the start. Confirm your zone boundary and season dates before you go.
