About the Springfield XDM 40 S&W

When you need a carry pistol that doesn't compromise on capacity or control, the Springfield XDM 40 S&W 3.8 Compact Bi-Tone Compliant Essentials Package hits a sweet spot. This is the same platform trusted by thousands of shooters for its aggressive grip texture and proven trigger system, now slimmed down for concealed carry without turning it into a subcompact. I have spent range time with this exact model, and what stands out is how it balances a shorter slide with a full-size grip frame. You get the concealability of a compact and the shootability of a service pistol.

Overview

The Springfield XDM 40 S&W 3.8 Compact Bi-Tone Compliant Essentials Package is built for the shooter who wants a reliable .40 S&W in a package that disappears under a cover garment. The 3.8-inch barrel and compact slide reduce overall length while the bi-tone finish gives it a distinct, professional look. This "Compliant" variant includes everything you need out of the box, including two magazines and a paddle holster, all while meeting restrictive state regulations. If you have been searching for a springfield xdm 40 s&w 3.8 compact bi-tone compliant essentials package, this is the most practical version Springfield offers for everyday carry.

Features & Specs

• Caliber: .40 S&W with a 3.8-inch hammer-forged steel barrel with Melonite finish for corrosion resistance and longevity.
• Capacity: Two 9-round magazines included, making this a true springfield xdm 40 s&w 3.8 compact bi-tone compliant essentials package for states with magazine capacity restrictions.
• Grip: Polymer frame with Springfield's trademarked XDM texture pattern. The interchangeable backstraps let you dial in palm swell and trigger reach.

The bi-tone slide features a two-tone finish with a black polymer frame and a stainless steel slide. The front and rear cocking serrations give you positive purchase for press checks and malfunction clears. The loaded chamber indicator and striker status indicator are tactile and visible, which I appreciate when reholstering after a drill. The trigger breaks clean at approximately 5.5 to 6 pounds with a short reset that makes follow-up shots feel natural.

• Safety: Grip safety and trigger safety only. No manual thumb safety to fumble with under stress.
• Sights: Low-profile three-dot sight system with a white dot front and white dot rear. The dovetails are standard, so aftermarket night sights drop right in.
• Finish: Stainless steel slide with a black Melonite coating on the barrel and a polymer frame available in flat dark earth or black.
