This fuchi kashira set is deeply carved with chrysanthemums and scrolling vines on a shakudo ground. The piece is unsigned and listed as used under SKU MGJ417 in the Japanese swords and fittings group. The carving depth is the feature the listing emphasizes, and the floral and vine motifs are the two subjects the buyer will see.

The set suits a collector of carved Japanese sword mounts who wants a floral motif on a dark ground. The deep carving makes the design the main point of interest, so buyers can judge the detail from the listing photos before ordering. Because the set is unsigned, the buyer is choosing it for the carving and the ground rather than for a named maker.
