About the Rossi M92 38/357 Lever

If you have been shopping for a classic lever gun that pulls double duty as a range toy and a practical field companion, the Rossi M92 38/357 Lever Action Carbine (Cosmetic Blemishes) is hard to beat. That means you get a proven, reliable rifle at a price that leaves room for ammunition, a sling, or a new optic. Let's walk through what makes this carbine a solid choice for anyone who appreciates old-school design with modern practicality.

Overview

The Rossi M92 is a modern take on the Winchester 1892 action, chambered for the versatile 38 Special and 357 Magnum. The "cosmetic blemishes" designation on this specific Rossi M92 38/357 Lever Action Carbine (Cosmetic Blemishes) means the metal or wood may have light scuffs, small dings, or uneven bluing that does not affect cycling or accuracy. This is the same rifle that would cost significantly more in "perfect" condition, but you are getting it at a discount because it didn't pass the final visual inspection. For a working rifle that will get scratched in the truck anyway, this is a smart buy.

Features & Specs

This carbine uses a smooth, short-throw lever action that cycles both 38 Special and 357 Magnum rounds interchangeably. The barrel length and overall profile keep it handy in tight spaces while still delivering good velocity from the magnum load. Here is what you get out of the box:

• 20-inch round barrel with a full-length magazine tube holding up to 10 rounds of 357 Magnum (or more with 38 Special)
• Blued steel receiver and barrel with a hardwood stock and forend; typical Rossi fit and finish, with the noted cosmetic blemishes on exterior surfaces
• Open sights with a brass bead front and adjustable rear; drilled and tapped receiver for scope mounting if you prefer glass

Mechanically, the Rossi M92 38/357 Lever Action Carbine (Cosmetic Blemishes) uses a forged steel receiver and a proven bolt design that handles the pressure of 357 Magnum without issue. The lever throw is crisp and short, making follow-up shots fast. The tang safety is easy to reach with your thumb, and the loading gate on the right side of the receiver accepts rounds smoothly once the rifle is broken in.

• Overall length of 36 inches with a weight around 5.5 pounds; balances well for carrying all day
• Interchangeable between 38 Special for low-recoil plinking and 357 Magnum for hunting or defense
• Cosmetic blemishes vary per rifle; expect minor scuffs, light scratches, or uneven bluing, but no mechanical defects
